Prince Edward County (PEC) is an important Monarch Butterfly migration corridor, with the Monarch Point Conservation Reserve on the South Shore acting as an International Monarch Butterfly Reserve. The reserve provides critical habitat and stopover points for monarchs and other species during their annual southward journey to Mexico. You can observe monarchs here during the late summer and early fall, as they gather to form roosts before continuing their flight.
